Antiko
The house of the Strujan’s was built in 1855 by unknown master groups and is attractively leaning to the North Tower of the Lower Gate.Built at the very entrance of the Lower Gate, partially integrated into the
tower itself, the building represents a special attraction at the entrance to the Old Town. The high stone ground floor, the exposed floors, enriched with horizontally sequenced windows, the exposed eaves, the functional connection to the tower from the Lower Gate and the three entrances in the ground floor, make this building a special and valuable witness of an exciting epoch. The grand dimension and volume of the building, functionally connected rooms and pergolas (chardaks), the playfulness provided by the bondruk style and the rich constructive and decorative plastic, make this building typical example of the architecture of the 19th century. The ground floor is stony, and the floors are built in bondruk style, reflecting the constructive and aesthetic norms of the epoch. A testimony of the aesthetic norms typical of the time in which the masters created is the treasure of the originally preserved interior with numerous rich wooden ceilings, flower places, wardrobes, decorative niches, etc.
